With a longstanding history as Wisconsin’s leader in independent PPO networks, HealthEOS offers real solutions that leverage today’s technology to keep health care costs at bay – while helping to ensure that each patient receives the best care possible.

1980 

  • MultiPlan, Inc. founded as a New York-area hospital network, later to grow into a national network. 

1984

  • Associates for Health Care (AHC), a Wisconsin network, founded.
     

1986 

  • Health Care Network of Wisconsin (HCN) founded by several large Milwaukee area employers. 

1989

  • Wisconsin Preferred Provider Network (WPPN) founded.

1997

  • MultiPlan, Inc. acquired WPPN.
  • Wisconsin’s WPPN renamed MultiPlan/WPPN.
  • Wisconsin clients given the option of adding MultiPlan as a national travel network. 

2002

  • MultiPlan/WPPN acquired Health Care Network of Wisconsin (HCN).
  • HealthEOS became the brand name for the Wisconsin networks and other service offerings.  

2004

  • Associates for Health Care (AHC) became a HealthEOS network as a result of MultiPlan's acquisition of its parent company, BCE Emergis.
  • MultiPlan/WPPN renamed HealthEOS by MultiPlan. 

2005

  • HealthEOS by MultiPlan acquired the Touchpoint Preferred network of independently contracted providers in Wisconsin’s Fox Valley.

2006

  • Successfully combined the WPPN, HCN, AHC and Touchpoint Preferred networks and began marketing the HealthEOS by MultiPlan network.
  • Introduced HealthEOS Plus for groups with qualifying benefit plans, offering geographic access identical to the HealthEOS by MultiPlan network with significantly greater savings at select providers.
  • MultiPlan, Inc. acquired by The Carlyle Group, a global private equity firm with $35 billion under management. MultiPlan remains a privately-held company with a Board of Directors consisting of executives from within and outside the company.
  • MultiPlan acquired Private Healthcare Systems, Inc. (PHCS), the country’s largest independent primary PPO network.

2009

  • Began marketing the HealthEOS Select Network and HealthEOS Select Plus, both with slightly reduced access and greater savings in northwestern and central Wisconsin.

2010

  • MultiPlan acquired Viant, Inc. and its subsidiaries including Texas True Choice and national PPO network Beech Street.
